Thank you for visiting ECBC! We are glad you can join us.
I, like many others was born into a Christian family. I went to church on Sunday, memorized verses, but never truly understood what it meant to be a Christian. Like a lot of people in Christian families, I was under the assumption that I was a Christian because of my family. Not having Christ in my life at the time left me unsure of why I was living, what life was about. I was also terrified of death. This can be what led me to accepting Christ.
I was told in Sunday school that it was good to read the Bible, so I would read through it in my room every now and then. I was reading through the gospels in my study Bible and I remember reading Jesus saying that only through Him you could be saved and live forever. The thought of eternity and death scared me. I had memorized John 3:16, but I never understood its meaning until then. I understood that He died on the cross so that we could live forever. It was then that I decided to pray to accept Jesus into my life as Lord and Saviour. I was assured of living forever, but not yet understanding why. It wasnˇ¦t until my first year at ECBC Youth Camp that I truly understood the life we take as a Christian. I knew then the seriousness of accepting Christ in my life.
So many great things have happened since deciding to become a Christian. I have made great friends through the church, strengthened my understanding of life, finding meaning in life. My academic life began to flourish, and I found satisfaction in everything I did. I know that God has promised us eternal life.
