Life's Good When All You Need Is Candy... – Jason Wu

I was born in Taiwan in the year 1992. My family and I traveled to Canada when I was just three years old. When we came here we started to go to a church. I loved to go to church when I was young because there I could interact with people my age, hear stories from the Bible, and eat tasty snacks, K yep! Life was good when you only needed candy and a T.V. show to keep you happy.

But, even though I knew my parents loved me, I felt an empty void in my heart because my brother was overshadowing me in so many places and I rarely did better than him. Most of their attention was focused on my sister since she was younger then me.

One day, my Sunday school teacher had a new character on the storyboard, and His name was Jesus, and that day I learned that He could walk on water and do many things as well. Then she asked who wanted to accept Jesus Christ into their heart. I said, “I wanted to!” and then she prayed for me. After she prayed, I felt as if a warm, loving feeling was surrounding me and filling up the void that was in me. I began to feel safe, like someone was watching over me and would protect me from harm.

Once a man asked if I knew that I was going to heaven? I was not sure at that time, but now I have an answer. Yes, I am sure that I have eternal life through Christ Jesus and I can enter the kingdom of God.
