Website FAQs
This goal of the new ECBC website is to reflect the life of the ECBC congregation and to show what God is doing in our lives, both individually and corporately.
The intent of the design is to appeal to two audiences:
- Existing church members, and
- Visitors or new members.
To this end, the website needs to be useful and easy to navigate. For the former group, it needs to provide timely information about ongoing ministries, fellowships and events. For the latter group, it also needs to provide basic information that some of us take for granted (such as what to expect during our services).
This new website will be updated at least once a week, sometimes even more frequently, in order to get the latest information posted up.
Things like the weekly announcements (online bulletin) and the home page will be updated regularly. We also have a Last Minute Updates section on the home page that is used for announcing last minute changes (such as meeting room or scheduling changes) throughout the week.
That's great! We're always looking for more content, especially pictures.
If you have some additional content, or if you would like to update existing content for your fellowship or ministry, please drop us a note at ecbcweb @ ecbc.org. This website belongs to all of us!
We've got lots of ideas! What you see here is just phase 1 of the website.
Phase 2 will add a community discussion board to the website. This will be a great place for us to discuss a variety of topics. If desired, we can have a forum for each ministry or fellowship.
Other things we're planning for the future include online sermons (audio first, then video later on), sermon notes, downloadable forms, online registration for future church events, and many more.
If you have other ideas of what you'd like to see on the website, please let us know. You can reach us at ecbcweb @ ecbc.org.
This is a very valid concern. We've employed a technique to mask all the email addresses posted on this website so that any automated scripts that happen to go through here should not recognize the email addresses.
Humans reading the website should still be able to recognize the email addresses.
Of course, if there were some unscrupulous person who collects email addresses by hand (i.e. not using an automated script), he would still be able to collect the email addresses off this website. But given the sheer volume of websites on the Internet, this type of activity is very slow, tedious and largely unproductive.
If you are really concerned about the privacy of your email address, please send us an email at ecbcweb @ ecbc.org and we can remove your email address from the site.
Well, these are all the questions we've come up with so far on our own!
If you have a question not addressed here, please send it to ecbcweb @ ecbc.org. If the question seems applicable to a number of people, we'll add it to this FAQ.
