Do you know that by the year 2020, with over 1.25 billion people, the population of India will exceed that of China? Do you know that vast stretches of North India are completely barren of churches, missionaries and Christians? Do you know that 80% of the people of India are Hindus and about 150 million make up the Muslim population, making them the largest Muslim population in the world? We are not just talking statistics; we are talking about people like ourselves, with longings and aspirations with eternity ahead of them. Where will they spend eternity?

For two successive years, we've sent short-term mission trips to North India, visiting places like Bhopal, Lucknow, Varanasi, Calcutta, as well as the state of Bihar. Besides broadening our own understanding and vision of missions, the purpose is also to encourage the church and to show the love of Christ through the medical and children's ministries. Just our presence alone has brought much encouragement to local Christian workers to press on in their work.
